Acquiring nuclear subs more important than ‘satisfying some bureaucrat’ at the UN
Former Labor MP Michael Danby says the issue of acquiring nuclear submarines is more important than “satisfying some bureaucrat at the United Nations” as the UN nuclear watchdog prepares to scrutinise the AUKUS plan.
“We’re in a serious situation – less attention to the United Nations,” Mr Danby told Sky News host Chis Smith.
“I think both the Opposition and the government should go to the Americans and say, ‘can we lease one of these Virginia-class submarines as soon as possible?’”
