UK rail strikes ‘harming’ commuters needing to get to work
UK Transport Secretary Grant Shapps says rail strikes in the UK are “harming” commuters who need to “get themselves into work”.
“The world has changed of course, which the unions don’t seem to have realised, and many people (are) simply working from home where they can,” he told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.
“Those who aren’t are the people that the unions claim they want to represent.”
“But it’s the people who need to get to work, because their jobs require they be physically there … who the RMT says they want to help, they’re actually harming those people the most.”
