Australia inflation likely headed in the same direction as US
The Centre of Independent Studies’ Simon Cowan says Australia is likely headed in the same direction as the US, after their Federal Reserve increased interest rates by 75 basis points.
“I would expect to see the Reserve Bank now seeing more pressure for several 50 places point increases,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“The market’s pricing in a really very high level of interest rate rises and a speed of interest rate rises, in particular, that we’ve basically never seen since RBA independence.”
