World roasts Amber Heard’s ‘cringe’ interview
Amber Heard is facing intense backlash after giving an interview with NBC’s Today where the actress proclaimed to her “dying day” she would stand by the testimony she gave in court despite jurors finding in Johnny Depp’s favour.
Ms Heard said she and Mr Depp were “awful to each other” during their “toxic” relationship, while admitting she made “a lot of mistakes but always told the truth”.
The 36-year-old also said she doesn’t blame the jury that awarded her ex-husband more than $10 million in damages but claimed social media’s role in the trial was not “fair”.
Twitter users argued Ms Heard was “acting” during the interview with journalist Savannah Guthrie from NBC News.
“Amber Heard’s interview was so cringe. I didn’t think her acting could get any worse but I was so wrong,” one person tweeted.
“This interview is the proof that she doesn’t have a proper PR team anymore. If she had, they would’ve told her not to do this #AmberHeardIsALiar,” another added.
Sky News host Piers Morgan also tweeted: “The jurors didn’t read any of the social media stuff, they listened to the evidence & concluded she was lying. I suggest it’s time for Ms Heard to stop playing the victim.”
