‘A terrible idea’: Law professor slams Voice to Parliament
The University of Queensland’s Professor James Allan says the Indigenous Voice to Parliament is a “licence for judicial activism”.
“Our judges in Australia don’t need a licence, they’re already indulging – this will just make it worse,” he said.
“It’s a terrible idea, the Voice, in my view.
“On principle grounds, on judicial activism grounds and because empirically you can’t point to a single country that has had good outcomes from going down an ethnic or race-based division.”
