Albanese to give ‘straight answers’ to US if elected PM
Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese said he would reach out to the US when questioned on his position with China if elected as Prime Minister.
“The polls show that you’re on track to win come May 21, if you do that, will you reach out to speak with the Chinese President Xi Jinping,” asked Sky News reporter Trudy McIntosh.
‘I’m not getting ahead of myself, and the relationship with China will remain complex and will remain challenging regardless of who wins the election,” Mr Albanese answered.
“I’ll tell you who I’ll be reaching out to, I’ll be – if we’re successful- reaching out to the United States, and the Biden administration.
And what the Biden administration will get from me, as our most important ally, is straight answers.”
