Wage growth the ‘worst thing’ businesses need right now: Ross Greenwood
Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood says it’s a problem Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has “no lived experience” of running a business after he announced a 5.1 per cent pay rise if elected.
Mr Greenwood said it’s not just the “actual wage you’re paying” but also the “superannuation on top”.
“The worst thing that any of them (businesses) need now is this incentive to employ somebody, because the one thing that’s keeping this economy right now going, with rising interest rates, is the fact that people have got jobs,” Mr Greenwood told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“And you want them to keep those jobs and maintain them into the future.”
