‘Massive unsustainable’ wage increases will not ‘go well’ for business or economy
Australian Industry Group Chief Executive Innes Willox says at some point we’re going to get into a “wages inflations spiral” if Australia “pushes massive unsustainable wage increases down employers’ throats”.
“It does not all go well for either for business or for the economy as a whole; you just get into this situation where we’re just going to continue to push inflation up,” Mr Willox told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.
“And it becomes ultimately unsustainable for business, small and large, to keep going the way they have, it makes it hard for them to employ people, it makes it hard for them to invest.
“The biggest victims of this will be the low paid and the unskilled who the ACTU are claiming they wanting to try to represent.”
