Katherine Deves has been ‘treated like a leper’ by Liberal Party
Sky News host Andrew Bolt says Liberal candidate for Warringah Katherine Deves has been treated “like a leper” by Prime Minister Scott Morrison, who refuses to comment on her beliefs.
“Scott Morrison hasn’t fought the culture wars for years, once said that fighting, for instance, our laws against free speech wouldn’t create a single job, wasn’t interested,” he said.
Mr Bolt said in spite of this – and just in time for the federal election – he personally picked outspoken anti-transgender advocate Katherine Deves for the seat of Warringah.
“The Liberals say nothing about this issue before this and launch it like a bomb right in the heat of the election campaign,” he said.
“Morrison and the Liberals have actually treated Deves like a leper since choosing her as if they’re ashamed, stopped given her interviews.
“Morrison had only himself to blame, trying to defend a candidate less than two weeks before election day – while also distancing himself from what she said.”
