Update provided as Queensland braces for heavy rain and severe storms
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Assistant Commissioner Andrew Short has provided an update on the heavy rain impacting parts of the state.

Heavy rain has lashed parts of central and north-west Queensland overnight.
“SES have had 39 requests for help,” he told Sky News Australia.
