Putin claims West was preparing to invade Russia in Victory Day speech
Russian President Vladimir Putin has given a Victory Day speech from Moscow’s Red Square, where he framed Russia’s war in Ukraine as necessary due to a threat of invasion from the West.
Mr Putin told his forces they were defending the “motherland” from an “unacceptable threat”.
He also accused the United States of supporting Nazis in Ukraine.
