Victorian health system faces criticism over ambulance response times
The Victorian government is facing criticism for the lack of improvement in ambulance response times.
More than 90,000 people are waiting for elective surgeries across the state, while one-third of urgent code one patients were forced to wait longer than the 15 minute target for an ambulance to arrive, according to the March quarterly report.
To respond to this increasing demand, the Victorian government invested $35 million earlier this year to help fast-track the recruitment of 120 paramedics.
