Royal Flying Doctors Service to receive $1 billion
Federal Regional Health Minister David Gillespie says there will be long-term certainty in the government’s pledge to fund $1 billion dollars for the Royal Flying Doctors Service.
It comes as the federal government has committed to a 10-year contract to assist regional areas of the country.
Mr Gillespie said the deal will assist in purchasing planes and employment contracts.
The RFDS tends to 300,000 patients every year covering 30 million kilometers.
