‘Messiah from the Shire’: Scott Morrison needs divine ‘miracle’ to win election
Scott Morrison will need divine intervention to secure a “miracle” election win after plummeting in the polls even further just 12 days into the new year, says Sky News host Chris Smith.
“Last September, Newspoll’s two party preferred numbers had him just six points behind and gaining,” Mr Smith said.
“In late December, the Coalition slipped further … Labor would end the year, a short priced favourite – destined to take 12 seats from the Coalition.
Mr Smith said research conducted by Utting Research in Western Australia dented the Prime Minister’s chances even further which polled a 10 per cent swing against government from 2019.
“The Prime Minister’s personal approval rating has crashed as well with just a 28 per cent approval number – way worse than his last Newspoll score of 45 per cent,” he said.
“How can the Prime Minister possibly arrest this multi-faceted downward trajectory?
“He’s going to need divine intervention, to conjure up this miracle.”
