‘Jimmy Carter 2.0’: Kamala Harris mocked in the aftermath of recent interview
US Vice President Kamala Harris has been dubbed ‘Jimmy Carter 2.0’ for remarks made during a PBS television interview.
During the interview, Vice President Harris said Americans are in a state of “malaise” when it comes to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
Some commentators mentioned the vernacular was ill-advised, since it harkened back to Jimmy Carter’s infamous 1979 “malaise speech”.
Jimmy Carter’s speech was delivered while America was suffering through an extreme bout of stagflation and rising tensions in the Middle East.
