Tim Paine takes indefinite leave from all cricket
Former Test cricket captain Tim Paine has taken leave from all cricket.
The move is a surprise as Mr Paine was slated to play in the Ashes, which starts on December 8.
Cricket Tasmania has released a statement which said Mr Paine’s absence from the sport would be “for the foreseeable future”.
Mr Paine’s manager confirmed on Twitter the cricketer would be taking a “mental health break” and was “extremely concerned” for Tim and his wife Bonnie Paine’s wellbeing.
Cricket Australia has not yet appointed a Test captain to replace Mr Paine.
