Biden ‘magically claims' the Build Back Better bill won't add to national debt
FEE Policy Correspondent Brad Polumbo says US President Joe Biden “magically claims” his Build Back Better plan will not add to the pre-existing debt the country has, despite the fact it does.
“But he says that it doesn’t and therefore it’s free, that’s kind of like saying that if I go to the grocery store and pay with cash instead of my debit card, then my groceries are free,” Mr Polumbo told Sky News host Cory Bernardi.
“It’s not how math works or basic economics and he’s claiming that the spending is fully paid for because they raised taxes to pay for it and don’t add to the national debt.
“But that’s because they use budget gimmicks.”
