Local businesses ‘push back’ against Black Friday sales
Recastled CEO Kosha Gada says there has been “push back” from some Australian businesses against the Black Friday sales which have been imported from the United States.
“Big box retailers and big eCommerce companies like Amazon really have … benefitted from a lot of structural advantages,” she told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“And it’s increasingly becoming difficult for … small businesses to compete about them. That has only been expanded and amplified in the pandemic.
“And I think that's why there is some push back against Black Friday that different retailers are trying to pursue, and we’ll see if they can shift that and move the needle in that, but I think it's going to be difficult because it’s just become this big event all around the world.”
